Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions families ask us most — about the process, the cost, and what happens to a loved one's home.
When a Loved One Passes Away
What do I do with a loved one's belongings after they pass away?
Start by giving yourself permission to go slowly — there's no deadline that requires sorting through a lifetime of belongings in a weekend. Many families begin by setting aside anything with clear financial or legal importance, like documents and valuables, then work through the rest at a comfortable pace. If the process feels overwhelming, that's exactly what we're here for: we handle the sorting, organizing, and clearing so you don't have to face it alone.
How much does it cost to clean out and prepare a house after a death in the family?
Cost depends on the size of the home, how much needs to be sorted, and which services you need — a single room is very different from a full estate. Rather than guess with a generic price list, we provide a free in-home consultation and a clear, written quote before any work begins, so you know exactly what to expect with no surprises.
How long does clearing out a house usually take?
It varies — a single room might take an afternoon, while a full home can take several days to a couple of weeks, depending on the volume of belongings and how much sorting is involved. During your free consultation, we'll give you a realistic timeline based on your specific situation.
Do you handle estate sales or auctions?
We don't run estate sales or auctions ourselves, but we regularly coordinate with trusted estate sale and auction companies when that's part of the plan. We can help identify which items may have resale value and connect you with the right professionals.
Downsizing & Moving to Care
Can you help if a parent is moving into assisted living, not after a loss?
Absolutely — downsizing for a move to assisted living or a smaller home is one of the most common reasons families call us. The process is very similar to an after-loss cleanout: sorting belongings, deciding what comes along, and preparing the previous home for its next chapter.
How do you decide what to keep, donate, or throw away?
That decision is always yours — we guide, we don't decide for you. We sort belongings into clear categories (keep, donate, sell, dispose) and set aside anything that looks sentimental or valuable for your review, so nothing meaningful gets overlooked or discarded by mistake.
What happens to items we don't want to keep?
Items you don't want to keep are donated responsibly to local organizations, recycled when possible, or disposed of properly — we handle the drop-offs and logistics so you don't have to make multiple trips yourself.
Working With Us
Do I need to be there while you work?
Not necessarily. Some families like to be present, especially early on, while others prefer to step back once priorities are set and let us handle the day-to-day work. We're happy to work either way, and we'll keep you updated throughout.
How do you handle sentimental or valuable items?
With extra care. Our team is trained to recognize items that may carry sentimental or monetary value and sets them aside for your review rather than making assumptions. Every team member is background-checked and treats your home like their own.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes — there's no cost and no obligation. We'll visit the home, or connect by video if that's easier, listen to your situation, and put together a clear plan and quote. If it's not the right fit, there's no pressure to move forward.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Henderson, NV and serve the greater Las Vegas Valley, including Las Vegas, Summerlin, and surrounding communities. If you're not sure whether you're in our service area, just reach out and ask.
Do you work with attorneys or real estate agents?
Yes. We regularly partner with probate and estate planning attorneys, senior living communities, and real estate agents whose clients need help preparing a home. If you're a professional looking to refer clients to us, or want to recommend a trusted attorney to your own clients, we'd love to talk.
